Child Find and Transition Committee

Goal 1: Develop a comprehensive list of screening providers and their responsibilities

• Objective 1: Find out who is currently reporting Child Find information
• Objective 2: Find out if everyone is reporting Child Find information, as necessary

Goal 2: Ensure seamless transition for children 0-5 between providers of services

• Objective 1: Update transition agreement
• Objective 2: Increase communication between all service providers, parents, and agencies

Public Awareness Committee

Goal 1: Assist with maintaining Web site

• Objective 1: Update workshop information for families and providers

Goal 2: Increase awareness through published articles in News Gazette

• Objective 1: Write an article for the News Gazette

Goal 3: Increase awareness through various media products (e.g., flyers, brochures, posters, CD, and DVDs) that are of varying reading levels, with targeted messages, and in various languages.

• Objective 1: Compile developmental charts and resources for parents and practitioners.

Provider Recruitment and Training Plan Committee

Goal 1: Increase number of providers serving in Champaign County

• Objective 1: Determine needs for specific providers in the county.
• Objective 2: Sponsor an informational meeting for local providers focusing on EI credentials. Invited panelist should include state representatives from DHS, CFC, and Provider Connections and

Goal 2: Expand awareness of community services and resources available to our children, families, and professionals

• Objective 1 : Develop a survey to determine what Council members want (a) to learn about and (b) who they know that could present on the topic. * Completed October 21, 2004
• Objective 2: Collate survey responses, report results, and post on listserv for council to select top 3 topic areas * Completed November 17, 2004
